John Doe Cancelled :-(

In case you watch "reality" tv shows and have no soul. You can skip this.
Ok, thinkers and fans of John Doe. I have discovered that John Doe has indeed been cancelled by Fox. However there is a strong following of the show and there is hope if the community speaks out they could bring it back.

If you enjoyed the show as much as Mrs. Muddy and I did then please sign the petition and or write/email the folks at Fox.

I saw the last episode just the other day. I videotape my shows and look at them on later dates.

I love this show and am totally sad to see it die. However, it just didn't have enough original ideas to keep it believable. The last few shows were just plain silly. And, the ending -- what in the hell was that all about? If anyone has the answer please help me out. Thanks.

If you read up on zap2it.com there is a article that says John got his gift when he died and God imparted all knowledge to him but John was brought back to life or some lame story like that.

So the yellow bellied execs at Fox have cancelled ANOTHER sf series with something different to say...all you have to do is change the title, whether it be Firefly, John Doe, Lone Gunmen (I know, I know....but it WAS different to all the reality shows et al). Soooo everybody looking forward to Kamelot?? Good grief!! But....don't hold your hopes up for a newly commissioned 2nd series of John Doe, they are deaf to our demands, they might do a DVD release a la Firefly. But after abandoning these series mid-flow shouldn't Fox donate the proceeds from DVD sales to charity? But then Murdoch, The "Dirty Digger" as we call him in the UK, is not known for his philanthropic ideals, it is all profit, profit, profit.....but I feel it is the ultimate follow up insult for them to make their $15 + profits on DVD and then run to the bank, piss on me, just don't shake off the drips afterwards....

This really sucks ass. Why should anyone watch a Fox show ever, after Firefly and now John Doe? If the show's good, you just know it will be cancelled.

Posted by: Matt Moran at November 25, 2003 03:55 AM

John Doe was the bestest show ever!!!!!!!!!
The ppl who cancelled it were ASSHOLES!!!!!!!!!
I loved watching it every week, and I wish it would come back on. Especially after they left us with that totally awesome cliffhanger!!!and especially since Dominic Purcell(John Doe) was a total HOTTIE!!!!!!But other than it was my favorite show to watch!!!!!!!!!

Fox does it again, no imagination there.

I can't believe it ... John Doe is the only programme in ages that tweaked the imagination ... & now I'm going to be tormented by the finale!!

I have to say Im gutted! Scifi channel made so many promises from the creators that 'they new where he came from' and what he was and we are never going to find out... It was truly fab, what am I going to do with my monday nights now??!! Is it true that the basic idea was going to be God sent him back for a second chance or is that just for comedy? Anyone researched it to a real conclusion??? Thanks you wonderful people.

The good news is you can all go out and buy all 4 seasons of The Lexx on DVD!!

"The good news is you can all go out and buy all 4 seasons of the Lexx on DVD"

LOL:
I didn't even realize *that* show was gone. I think that was one of the few scifi shows Muddy and I did not watch together....HE actually LIKED the show.

Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 22, 2004 05:18 PM

2 more volumes of season 4 and my collection will be complete! Lexx 4 Ever!

Posted by: bennyhill1978 at January 22, 2004 06:04 PM

"2 more volumes of season 4 and my collection will be complete!"

You almost sound like Dr. Frankenstein. Are you sure a Lexx collection is *all* your building? :-)

Never mind, don't answer that. I don't think I want to know.

Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 22, 2004 06:58 PM

Actually i was going for Emperor Palpatine from StarWars

Posted by: bennyhill1978 at January 22, 2004 08:57 PM

Ah, yes...It's all so clear to me now. Carry on.

Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 22, 2004 10:33 PM

Well isn't this typical, they have such a fantastic build up to the climatic end of "John Doe", and then they leave us hanging for all eternity wandering what the hell could have happened!!@:( Well done Fox, you truly are a stupid bunch of people!!!

Posted by: Steven at February 29, 2004 11:51 PM

How is it that they can kill a show just like that? That show was amazing, and i loved watching it. we need them to at least wrap it up somehow. maybe a made-for-tv movie that explains everything. something. damn you Fox network.

Posted by: Nick at March 12, 2004 09:59 PM

Man, that totally blows! I just saw the last ep and went on the net to find out what happens next and what do I find? Its been cancelled there is no next!!! They can't leave us hanging like this. Too many sci-fi shows have been axed lately, I don't think they're giving them enough of a chance. Have there been any decent new programmes in the last year or two thats got beyond a season?!

Posted by: Jules at April 22, 2004 05:11 PM

I think FOX is in need of a lobotomy. They kill all the good stuff like Firefly, John Doe, Space: Above and Beyond, The Visitor, Strande Luck, and Brimstone yet show stuff like singing idol, Average Milionaire, and Temptation whatever. What is this world coming too? They need to get off their collective butts and create a new system other that Nielsen cause it is old and NOT indicative of the truth if the people at the "watercooler" are any indication.

Thick executives need educating.

I live in Australia. I searched for John Doe at TV Tome and when I found out it had been cancelled I didn't bother watching it any more. What a dissapointment. Now we will never know what happened.

Posted by: Marshall Jones at May 14, 2004 03:51 AM

I also live in Australian and am a huge fan. The show comes on after midnight here and the final episode just finished. I can't believe that such a fantastic show was canecelled. A real disappointment.

Loved even (c: LOL

I decided to get all the Johdn Doe episodes even the original pilot with Meat Loaf as Digger..

From what I've read the person in the last episdoe at the end was not really digger but a set up to look like Digger to confuse Doe. With such a twist like that its obvious it wasnt really digger. Good idea though to get people all worked up. They atleast need a Final finale to see who was the fake digger and who and what he was... (Doe)

I'm starting to hate Fox. I loved the show John Doe,now there's nothing worth watching, dang I'm sick of reality shows they're getting just too old. I figure sooner or later they will even cancel the Simpsons, like I said I'm disappointed in FOX.
