Back - Sort of...

Hello everyone! PFC (soon to be Lance Corporal) Skywalker here, greeting you all from Camp Pendleton, California. I've learned alot more about why anti-war protestors are Idiots (tm) and I should be coming home to Atlanta on a permanent basis and getting back to school here by mid-December. I've got some stories for you soon, including one about who the military votes for in our elections. Some funny ones, and I'll even post some pictures from MCT (very basic combat training given to non-infantry Marines) and from here at the air station.

great to hear from you bro.
looking forward to your posts!

yeah sure looking forward to see what stories you might come up this time. 6 months later, no WMD, no links with al quaida, no democracy, no progress on the israeli peace process ...
And USA feared and hated in so many places all over the world. + the growing budget deficit...

Yeah. Glad to see you dare comme back.
I want to hear you cry like a vietnam veteran.

Posted by: DF at October 16, 2003 07:31 AM

DF: Actually, I don't even know WHY I'm waisting my time with you right now (should know better but apparently today, I don't). Sometimes your capable of saying things that actually border the itellect but for the most part, such as this one...you've shown yourself again to act like an arrogant blustering jerk. Not to mention moron.
I would trust what Skywalker has to say ANY day over anything you could remotely come up with on your own and not just for the simple fact that his IQ surpasses your own but simply for the fact that he's actually TALKED 1st hand to people who where/are involved and can bring us information that the media would most likely NEVER share.
Aside from all of that, I'VE personally MET Skywalker MYSELF and he has shown himself to be of good character and is someone I trust. Personally, I'm very proud of him and his fellow brothers in uniform and I feel safer knowing that there are people like him prepared to defend people like me at ANY given moment in time!!!
Oh, and by the way smart a**, "I want to hear you cry like a vietnam veteran.". If you want to "rumble" with Skywalker, one word of advise: Come up with something more creative because that was downright idiotic (not to mention disrespectful)....of course, considering the source, WHAT did I expect!
Now, go ahead spew forth your hot air.

Posted by: mrs. muddy at October 16, 2003 09:59 AM

DF, that was outright stupid.
Cry like Vietnam Vet??
WTF is that!
I've enjoyed some of our discussions but if you continue with this kind of arrogant self rightous B.S. you will be banned as others have.

I will not tolerate anyone bashing the brave soldiers who fight for their country. American, French or anyone else. Those willing to put their life on the line so their countrymen can sleep easy at night deserve all the respect and gratitude we can give.

Posted by: muddy at October 16, 2003 12:42 PM

"...but if you continue...you will be banned as others have."

That wasn't enough? I'm all for voices of dissent, but this is nothing more than someone trying to offend in the worst way they think possible. The intent apparent in that post alone should warrant action.

You'd think that someone that bent on getting someone's goat could do better though. If it turns out that is the type of thing one can post here, let me know. I have a few I would like to try out.

yEa DF- cry like a vietnman vet- thats just wrong- are you upset because America was coming to your resuce in Vietnam- =( get over it

Posted by: kevin at October 16, 2003 03:03 PM

You know exactly what I aim at. Anger skywalker. You know exactly what I mean. Soldiers always go bragging around, we know what we do, we do good and fight and they bash peace protesters ...
Then they face reality and come home crying we did not know ... People lied to us. Bad president ... And the like.
When the truth was self apparent from the start.

So Yes I want to see arrogant skywalker come home and cry because that's what he deserves. A good reality lesson. And if you ban me please proceed.
It will spare my time.

And by the way lots of people are kind in close contact. Even hitler pat the children on their head, was a faithful husband and the like.
But so far I've proven right on each point I've made and skywalker wrong on each point he as made ... Seems being over there doesnot help getting the truthful information.
And his post have shown also a complete lack of knowledge of his own country's history.
Have him learn.

DF:
"And if you ban me please proceed, it will spare my time."
Trust me, you DON'T have to wait for an invitation. If this web site takes up your valuable time then why in hell do you stop by? To "prove" your "points"? All you have "proven" is the fact that (though you have brought up some interresting points in the past - and some I have personally agreed with) for the most part you have NO idea what your talking about! ...and when you DO come up with somewhat of a valid point, you don't tell the whole story either because you don't know the whole story or you just don't want to admit that your wrong. That's all YOU'VE ever proven.

"But so far I've proven right on each point I've made and skywalker wrong on each point he has made."
Are we reading the same posts? Because from where I've been sitting, skywalker has kicked your ass many of times and has deliverd it back to you on a silver plater.

"Even Hitler....." What in the world was that! Knowing you, your trying (and failed) to make a point. It comes off like your comparing skywalker to Hitler....well, then, what does that make you?!

"His posts show a complete lack of knowledge..."
Again, are we reading the same posts? I guess the bottom line is, some people will always agree with what they want to agree with and will only see what they want to see even when proven wrong they feel and swear they are right. Yes, I know you think what I just said in that last sentence refers to us - and there are tons of time when this nation is very well like that - arogant (and whinny) - but all in all, I'm simply pointing out YOUR never ending aparent arogance - unfortunately, you have an endless supply yourself.

Personally, I've always enjoyed getting other points of views from other cultures but not when they get so arogant they are not willing to look at reality in front of them.

Oh, and by the way, we on this post (for the most part) have always accepted other beliefs and points of views. When people protested the war, we where all accepting to their beliefs and opinions....but we drew the line when they (peace protestors) bashed the men and women in uniform and we were justified in drawing that line.

Posted by: mrs. muddy at October 17, 2003 09:10 AM

DF: First off, you're hardly proven me wrong on all my points...some sure, not all by far. Second, No WMD? Nope, not to surprising either as I'm sure that in the end, they were doing anything and everything to get rid of them to make us look bad. No links w/ Al-Quaeda?! That's a laugh. See the 4 U.S. soldiers dying a day over there? You know who is doing it? Al-Quaeda terrorists. How do *I* know? Cause in the area of Pendleton that I live, there are people who just got back last night much less some others who arrived 2 weeks ago. (Quite litterally some got back last night.) Not to mention that I've been warned that I might be sent either to Afghanistan or Iraq in January.

No progress int he Israeli peace proccess?! Yassir Arafat on the way out sounds like progress. Course, no progress will ever be made if the palestinians don't quit blowing themselves up in restaurants.

If we're feared, all the better. If we're hated, then the people who hate us are pretty ignorant.

Of course, your comments come from a person who lives in a country were they are kicking two young girls out of school for wearing a muslim head dress, because clothing can some how violate the seperation of church and state.

Growing budget deficit? Actually, it's shrinking, tax revenues have started to increase and that is starting to shrink the deficit. No democracy in Iraq? Good, democracy is a bad thing, it always degenerates into mob rule. Representative government ont he other hand...while not perfect (no government is) works much better. Last I remember Bush promised representative government in Iraq at the start of the war, and I don't remember him saying it would be there in 6 months.

Dare come back? I only was gone because of a temporary lack of computer access. But that problem is some what solved.

Don't give me that little crying like a vietnam vet line, it is petty and unbecoming. Anger me? Hardly! I read your post and laughed because it shows that you read/watch the news. Newsflash: reporters LIE. ALOT.

skywalker- glad to hear you are back- God bless you for your services to our country ++

HAH, Ive become a skeptic. Both sides, the idiotic "protesters" and the "pro war" people are so dogmatic that any attempt at understanding the opposite argument escapes them.

"And by the way lots of people are kind in close contact. Even hitler pat the children on their head, was a faithful husband and the like."

He has a point. When the Israeli secret police arrested Eichmann, head of the SS and sent him to trial in Jerusalem the world expected a monster. What they found was a man who was a good father, loved children and even had a few Jewish friends. He was just "doing his job" as most people are when they commit attrocities...following a higher power so to say. Mai Lai massacre is another example, for many of the men interviewed were following their leaders orders to burn down a village and kill innocent people. The "banality of evil" a term coined by Hannah Arendt, a student of Heidegger and author of the book "Eichman in Jerusalem" where she touches upon the idea mentioned above that most peole assume evil to be this noticeable instance when in reality everyday persons are the perpetrators.

"Personally, I've always enjoyed getting other points of views from other cultures but not when they get so arogant they are not willing to look at reality in front of them."

Have you ever travelled out of the US? Usually its the Americans that are the most arrogant.

"When people protested the war, we where all accepting to their beliefs and opinions....

Actually I could post proof contrary to what you just said. When you put up a story about the protestors it always begins with a negative portrayal of them. Isnt this bad reporting? Shouldnt you remain neutral in the beginning until you have shown your audience what "idiotic" thing they have done and then add your opinions to the conclusion?

Just a thought.

ok so lets just say "ya konw what- yea 6 million jews were killed- but he's a nice dad so it's ok we can forget about it." he's still a devil

Posted by: kevin at October 31, 2003 02:33 PM

Les: Long time no post.

"Have you ever travelled out of the US?"

No. Not as of yet but I have met many people from around the globe and I have always enjoyed getting to know about them and their culture.

"Usually its the Americans that are the most arrogant."

I never said we weren't arrogant. As a matter of fact I believe Americans can sometimes be the most arrogant, whinny, spoiled bunch of cry babies you've ever run across. That doesn't mean we're all like that though.

"Actually, I could post proof contrary to what you just said. When you put up a story....*mrs. muddy getting lazy on quoting :P*.......

I'm sure you could post proof - in some (even alot) of cases. If it was bad reporting, blame the media who put it in the papers. If I'm not mistaken, the majority of the "reports" we posted were from what was reported on in the news papers. Yes, ALOT of what the media dishes out is off base... but there were some reports that were posted because Muddy (and the others) wanted to get everyone's opinions on the matter...hence the whole reason for his website. Plus, alot of people posted things based on what they personally experienced and witnessed on a daily basis.

Both sides did some pretty "idiotic" things but what pissed alot of us off the most was when people were disrespectful towards the soldiers and "spat" in their faces with the things they did through the protests.

I for one never thought of anyone who supported the war as a "war monger" (unless they admitted to it), nor did I think of anyone who opposed the war as a "pacifist" ( unless they admited to it). I thought it was ridiculous to lable anyone who just spoke their opinion. However, when people ( on this post and/or the media) spoke their opinions and tried to present those opinions as actual "facts" without the "proof" to support their "facts" that's when we all (including myself) got a "little" testy. Lets face it, emotions ran high for a while ( they still do to a degree) and we ALL spoke out with complete passion for what we believed in...and yes, tempers flared and flew
(including mine) but if anything hopfully, we all went away with a better understanding of one another.

Good luck in grad school.

Kevin: That wasnt my point nor DF. I think more along the lines...the exterior tells you nothing of a person. Although our society constantly judges via exteriors
Ms. muddy: I was not referring to mainstream media ...but to the reports your husband puts up..well, no mainly cwilli not muddy.

Thanks for the good luck.
