For many years I've been listening to the never ending banter by the "special rights" whiners and now I feel it's time for my brothers and sisters to raise our voices and be heard.
As color "challenged" citizens it's time the government recognized us as a minority. After all if laws can be passed to give "preference" to (so called) men who get some sick kick from sticking their *&%$'s in another males @zz then why should I not get protections and privileges because I'm color blind???
There should also be a NAACBP "National Association for the Advancement of Color Blind People".
To form a grass roots organization to "empower" the color blind and end bigotry against our kind.
We'll found the ACBLU "American Color Blind Liberties Union" to group together lawyers who can strong arm people into giving us what we want and do our best to destroy anyone who does not think like we do.
In this current environment where every group who screams loud enough gets special treatment it's time for the color blind to start yelling.
Our lobbyists will work on getting hiring laws passed (or quota's) and protection rights. Also every time a color blind person has a crime committed against us it should be considered a "hate" crime. Since hate crime has been defined as a crime against a minority.
I also believe it's time we started the "Grey Pride Parade" in every major city to make people aware we are proud to not see the world as they do for some the world is black and white, and we need special rights and privileges because of that.
I envision color blind people across this nation standing shoulder to shoulder wearing black and white (because we can't dress ourselves) and making it known that we have a real problem that needs attention, and government funding.
People need to realize we're going to run red lights, dress funny and wire things backwards, we're just born like this.
Color Blind people Unite!

LOL! Oh boy, am *I* a witness to that! :-D There have definately been times (though not too often) when Muddy has come down the stairs wearing some God awful "concoction" that he thinks match.
That's the point when I very quickly run up the stairs (after I beg him not to leave the house yet assuring him that, "I will be RIGHT back") and grab something else from his closet. I then run back down stairs and beg him to put it on:
"Please," I say, "THIS will look MUCH better."
On a rare occasion, I even make the 'ol "switch-a-roo" while the clothes are still on the bed and he's in the other room. He comes back no more the wiser - hehehe:-D
Once again, I save the day...."fashionally" speak - that is.
Ahh, Muddy...what WOULD you do without me?:-D
(Aside from buying more computer equipment)
*BTW, in our household, Muddy is forbidden to even TOUCH the laundry...unless he's hanging it up.*
Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 17, 2004 11:01 PMWow, so being color blind will get me out of laundry???
Sign me up!

Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 19, 2004 02:00 AMLOL. No I was trying to get out of any laundry duty. Besides the thought of handling Muddy's laundry isnt a pleasent one.....
I dont know how you do it....
Posted by: cwilli at January 19, 2004 01:15 PM"I don't know how you do it..."
Well, tis not an easy task. Of course, wearing a clothes pin on my nose and turning a "blind" eye of my own tends to help some. hehehe :-)
Boy, I'm gonna pay for that one :-D LOL!
Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 19, 2004 01:35 PMoh come on, having come from a peoples who were enslaved and comparing that to your condition of not being able to tell the dif from red to green...get over it
I.m a vegan and i dont consider myself a "Special group"
Posted by: les at January 19, 2004 05:35 PMoh your in a special group alright....
Posted by: cwilli at January 19, 2004 06:23 PMLes:
Muddy does not consider himself a "special group" either. His point is that we are all human beings and that everyone be treated equally....it was his way of saying (with his wonderful brand of sarcasm that I've personally grown to love) that he's sick of some people getting "special treatment" when we should ALL recieve the same treatment. That all. Maybe muddy will elaborate more....who knows.
Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 19, 2004 08:02 PMLes, may I say read the warning at the end of my post again. (sad when I have to point this out)
Posted by: muddy at January 20, 2004 12:23 AMLes: can't agree with you more on your statement...but muddy was being sarcastic. It was satire.

Posted by: skywalker at February 19, 2004 09:42 AMWell, maybe not as "colour blind as a bat"....but he does see colour in the same way as someone who is trippin' on acid....HEY! Maybe THAT'S the problem! Hehehehe.
