Food for thought with July 4th approaching

[July 4th] ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.
[letter written to Abigail on the day the Declaration was approved by Congress]

As a side note to all those backyard BBQ'ers take a moment to give some thanks to God and pray for the return of our great country to sanity.

"...and pray for the return of our great country to sanity."

Without trying to sound sanity even possible anymore? God knows *I'm* far from it.:-/

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
-John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873)

cwilli: leave it to a fellow devil dog to get that one. Every unit I've been in (boot camp, School of Infantry, NAMTRAMARUNIT and HMLA-773) has had that hanging somewhere.
