(reading my mind)
(keep your finger straight and off the trigger until your ready to fire. Does that sound familiar, war hero?)
Thanks Drudge Report

Never point at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Keep the weapon on safe until you intend to fire.
Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.
Breath, Relax, Aim, Stop, Squeeze and Follow-through.
I still can not hold a weapon like he is in that picture, or look that stupid holding one. And the same group of people trained us to shoot!
I notice the other person pictured who is not aiming is pointing her weapon in a safe direction, with her finger off the trigger.

I was on drudge this morning and saw those and said... naaa to easy.
Oh well. It's funny anyways.

Yes, I've heard those instructions as well (as have other people here, I'm sure) But, if you really look closely at the picture, I don't think the guy is really aiming it *directly* at kerry's head. It looks as if the picture was shot at an interresting angle (camera tricks) to make it look as we think we're seeing it. Seriously, the more I look at it, it looks as if the guy may very well be standing directly *behind* kerry aiming the gun upwards. Personally, I think that was the whole joke. So relax.:-)
Where's dilok when you need him?
Still though...quite funny.:-)
LOL!
Mrs Muddy, Relax is was a joke. The guy is either actually standing in front of Kerry on the firing line or the photo has been photoshop'd. Its just the way that his head is cocked makes it look like it is right against his head. Thats what makes the picture so funny.
The comment on how he should have his finger off the trigger is for the second picture. Not to mention that way that his mouth is open makes him look, well, 'challanged'.

Duh!:-) I know it was a joke. I knew that at the time I posted my comment. However, it was *after* I posted my comment, I remembered what the "drudge report" is so *obviously*, the picture was photoshoped. I was telling Skywalker to relax...he seemed much more disgusted and horrified at the way the guns were being held in the picture and didn't seem to be enjoying a good laughing. Of course, maybe I took him wrong? It has been a long day.:-)
Posted by: mrs. muddy at July 4, 2004 09:45 PMmrs muddy: The second picture is the one that bothered me! He looks like such an idiot holding that weapon! The first picture is just the other guy is behind him on the firing line-big deal! Heck, I didn't even notice that part. I just noticed that a man who was trained to handle small arms looked like a complete jack ass haha! The whole things is funny to me!

Ah...I though you were refering to the 1st one. My misunderstanding.
"He looks like such an idiot holding that weapon!"
Well, sweetie, don't be too hard on him, he just can't help that. He's just drawing from his natural personality.
"The whole things is funny to me!"
Gotcha.:-) Like I said, it's been a VERY long day (and *I* didn't even get to see any fireworks this 4th - I'm pretty bumbed at that.:-/ ) so without further "adieu" (to you and you and you **flashbacks of " The Sound of Music" playing in my head - God help me! :-S )...good night. Good night and farewell. Farewell, until we meet again. May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house. (Thank you, George Carlin)
Posted by: mrs. muddy at July 5, 2004 12:15 AMYou know, when I'm feeling down I'm going to come back to this and look at that first picture again. I can't stop laughing. :-D
Posted by: muddy at July 6, 2004 10:17 AMAnother caption for both pictures could read:
"Where will you be when *your* laxative kicks in?"
