Lance Armstrong and the USPS cycling team are off to a moderate start in the 2004 TDF. After coming in second place in the prolog and third in stage one Lance eased up a bit finishing out of the top ten today. If you don't have OLN in North America you can listen live on the English web site.

"does post office really need press?"

Haha...true. However, with all the e-mailing going on these days, maybe the post office is in more trouble than we thought?

Wasted? Oh ye of little understanding.
It takes buckets of cash to sponsor a team. Salary's for a dozen or more riders on each team, bikes which can cost four thousand easy most much more than that. Tools, trainers, transportation, vehicles, gear, doctors and more. The teams with a little cash are forced to use products off the shelf while teams with cash build their own wind tunnels to test out aerodynamic body suits, helmets, bikes and even shoes. When winning can come down to seconds everything matters. I guess you'd have to be a fan to appreciate how well the usps team is feared and respected. Just like NASCAR you don't have one sponser, the USPS team is equally sponserd by AMD and Berry Floor as well as many others.
