France thanks WWII Allies

cdg.jpg
TOULON, France : Military vessels and aircraft streamed along France's Mediterranean coastline Sunday in an impressive ceremony commemorating World War II Allied landings in the region 60 years ago that proved a follow-up to the D-Day landings in Normandy.

President Jacques Chirac, hosting the function aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, expressed his country's "infinite gratitude" to the nations who took part in the August 15, 1944 assault.

I would also like to take this time to thank the brave French Navy for it's strong show of support during my countries birth. If they had now showed up who knows if America would be here today as it is now. So the next time some Frenchmen wants to throw stones at America, think twice because your partly responsible for us being here. as we are for your freedom. Kinda funny how that works. :-)

Yeah, we're dawn glad you entered both world wars on the democratic side. And we french men especially thank and will thank the US forever for freeing our country in 1944 ...

The part where we helped in 1787 is funny because :
1 Most of the reason of our coming to help was fighting the damned British ... We've been at war with them since ... since Jehan of arc may be and the death of the king who would have united france and england back 16th century.

2 yet, some of the french leaders where pro democracy and yet noble : Lafayette ...

3 the funniest part is this war costed a lot to the french treasury ... so much it helped the 1789 revolution to happen. So in freeing you, the king involutarily led to its own demise.

However Iraq still looks like a mess ... and dubby does not sound like the best advocate for democracy ...
Besides no one in France ever threw stones at the americans made any stupid american jokes or commented on "child America" ...
We may have had some jokes on Bush jr...

Anyway, were're pretty happy the USA exist. And pretty happy to oppose to it when needed.
