I cannot express in mere words how sick, and very, very tired I am of this election, the election process, John "proud to be a war criminal" Kerry and George "I only care about rich folk" Bush. I want someone to make it all go away.
And If I hear one more news story about the damn Vietnam war I'm gonna loose my freaking mind!
This was the straw that broke my camel's back. (in case you care)
Hello Cleland, *knock, knock* is anyone home in there!?! Bush is NOT attacking veterans, the swift boat fellows are attacking a "War Criminal"!! Kerry, if he represents ALL Veterans then your some sad, sad people.
Get over it, stop crying and I need your address so I can send you a clue because it's obvious your severely lacking any.
I must confess, the more this mindlessness carries on the more I realize my understanding of God's mercy and patience is so very, very minute.
It really makes me think He's the craziest one of us all, what were you thinking man? Going thirty years through the emotional stress and strain. The trials, the torture the beatings. Then to top it off you forgive the morons who killed you. I dare say your clinically insane.
*pause*
Maybe, just maybe those who we lock up as insane. Know you the best. ;-)
Posted by Muddy at August 26, 2004 05:00 AM | TrackBackYou don't even know the saddest part of that. Max Cleland used to be one of my senators. He is an absolute sweetheart of a man ( I mean that as a complement ) and used to be secretary of state and held several other positions in government. He's also a Vietnam vet and a triple amputee. He won't normally say how it happened and when he went into politics he used the story that it was in the rear, it was defective or something and the pin just popped out of a grenade. The story people who knew him before politics will tell you that he had hung it by the pin on some of his gear, which isn't as stupid or uncommon as it sounds, and he was going into a house of ill-repute and one of the madamme's grabbed the grenade right off the pin.
He came home, became a college professor, the process of that is how a friend of my family's met him (they went to school together.) When he went into politics, he essentially got a sympathy vote. Max Cleland however, is not the brightest bulb in the box, sadly because he really is just a nice guy. So, when he went in to the senate, he was well in over his head. He became the lapdog of Tom Daschle and unions. Becoming anyone's lapdog, much less that of a union, is not how you get re-elected in Georgia. Most Georgians are not fond of unions, with good reason I might add. So his actions got him removed from the senate in a heated elected. During the 2000 election he was Al Gore's lap dog, now he is John Kerry's. He's going around saying Ginsburg committed a crime, which isn't true, several of Kerry's lawyers are doing the same thing for moveon.org. So Either Cleland is a liar, or he's furthering the evidence of his ignorance and well, stupidity.
Why can't we get to some damned issues?! Kerry is a hero who scammed his way to 3 purple hearts and committed war crimes. Damn, a hero can't do something bad?! Bush went to the National guard towards the end of the war. I dare say that at the point he went in he didn't exactly pick the best way to do it: a gargantuan number of the fighter squadrons in Vietnam were ANG units - not exactly a way to avoid the war. But by the time he went in, he was unlikely to get sent there no matter what he did. So big freaking deal! Maybe he didn't it to avoid the war, maybe he RIDTed a few of his weekends. Who, really cares?
Kerry claims to care about poor people while he has his butler make him peanut butter and jelly sandwhich and sits there claiming he'll fix the economy by raising taxes ont he people who create jobs and raising the minimum wage. Now that's got to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard froma candidate.
Bush is considering supporting the FairTax bill, saomething economists say would create an economic boom the likes of which we have never seen before! (not to mention that it would increase government revenue, remove anyone below the poverty line from the tax rolls and tax otherwise untaxed money.)
Neither supports free speech.
Both supported the war and still do.
Bush tried to get body armor to the troops and Kerry voted against it. In the process Kerry also voted against paying me cause part of that money was my pay for the month of March. Thanks Senator!
Both want government in my bedroom more.
One is pro-abortion, one is anti-abortion. Neither will change a thing about it.
One wants more federal funding of basically everything. One wants less.
Both support our disasterous failing public schools.
Both want to regulate the hell out of healthcare, thus making it more expensive.
Neither wants tort reform.
Bush thinks terrorism is a military problem. Kerry thinks it is a law enforcement problem.
Okay folks, you decide.

Because they're too busy attacking each others character. I'm so sick of all of it, it makes me tempted to just stay home on election day. Of course, I won't but it makes me just want to leave them all alone to their bickering. So yes, I'll go out in November, cast my vote, the come home and hug my tolet. Besides, this *is* politics...that last thing anyone wants to do is talk about the issues.
I HATE election years!
Posted by: mrs. muddy at August 26, 2004 03:03 PMI read somewhere that perhaps Christ was not aware of his final mission until He was baptised. Also He did seem to rejoice in the title "Son of Man". (See Halley's Bible Handbook commentary on John Chapter 1.)
So it might not be correct to say that Jesus had thirty years of stress and strain. I bet He had some fun, too.
Posted by: Wendy at September 5, 2004 01:07 AMChrist's baptism basically signified the beginning of his ministry....he always knew what his destiny was from day one.
