I heard about the "poop" thing about a day after it broke...I don't think it had anyhting to do with the election at least *I* don't remember it being mentioned.

Calm down there stud. Besides, I heard the whole thing backfired on them. Turns out that the republicans ended up to be better than the models expected and in the end, it was the rep. who got some votes for Bush instead. Needless to say the whole project was abandond. Talk about your strange twists.:-P
