Last night was two fools standing on their perspective soapboxes saying the same crap that has been said since day one. Heck, there was not even an entertainment value to it. *yawn*
The only note worthy thing of the whole debate was before it.
The manicure heard round the world. hehe..
Yup, you heard right. John "prissy" Kerry went and had his grrly side pampered.
uh.. yea... right before coming out and being a "big strong man".. I think he was under the impression he was going to be on "America's Top Model" not the debate.
It naturally went with his spray on tan, his botox injections and whatever else he has done to himself to look more Hollywood.
I thought having a member of the liberal media moderate helped Kerry. I'm not sure if those watching noticed but I think Kerry's voice dropped an octave and he was leaning forward a slight bit. Very clever if you ask me, he clearly did not think up this by himself. Bush on the other hand look irritated, at times I could see in his eyes he wanted to jump over the podium and choke the poo out of Kerry.
I will be ripping it and making it available to those who request it. Audio or Video.
Posted by Muddy at October 1, 2004 12:49 PM | TrackBackkerry really hit a grand slam in that "debate". i was worried he would be to soft or talk about vietnam to much, but he really came out there and destroyed bush. he really made it a refferendum on bushs record and bush was left flabergasted. [which doesnt take much]
he hit on all bases about the lack of supply for the troops. lack of armer on the humvees, how bush secured the oil ministry and nothing else, how he fired general shinseki. how more troops are being blown up every single month, nuclear proliferation, i mean he really cleaned bushs clock on his war on "terror".
all this talk about kerry being a "flip flopper" will backfire. why, because alot of people are doing the same thing. alot of people supported the war in iraq, and now see it was based on lies.
look at the polls that say more people belive it was wrong to go into iraq. bush keeps saying it was right but i dont even think he belives that anymore. now either these people have changed their minds and are flip flopping, or its the evil liberal media and there zombie micro waves influincing opinions.
howard stern is very conservative and was very supportive of bush on the war on terror and iraq. then around march he started changing his tune. just like howard stern, alot of people are coming around and seeing what a lying SOB bush is and how he Decieved the american public about iraq. if kerry wants to end this, all he has to say is, " i belived the president and mr powel. i was decieved by them just like the american public has been". if he said that bush and his cronies would be left with nothing to say. he got very close to saying that, but didnt quite cross the line, but he will.
What the hell does howard stern have to do with anything intelligable?
As far as the "debate" goes, I guess it depends on who you talk to. Personally, I dont' believe either one "won" the "debate" (if you can call it that anyway). It was the same old s**t different day.
Here's Kerry to the public:
I'll say anything that the public wants to hear as long as it will get me elected. I say one thing this week and if you don't like it, wait until next week and I'll change my tune enough to where you'll like me.
Here's Bush to Kerry:
Do we have to go through more of your shit again?! Make up your mind already and then I wont feel like I'm waisting my time debating you.
One of the things that *did* bother me though was that I don't remember Bush reminding Kerry that he helped slash intelligence under Clinton's watch so whatever intelligence was flawed was in part because of Kerry.
"kerry really hit a grand slam in that "debate"
What debate did you watch? I guess you must have finally perfected that perfect blend of ice cream and PCP....
I agree with Mrs Muddy when she said 'if you want to call it that' because it was not a real debate. It was 1.5 hours of the same shit I have been hearing on the commercials.
And we STILL dont know Kerry's plan. I think that because Kerry does not know Kerry's plan. Maybe it didnt pass the 'Global Test' yet.
Posted by: cwilli at October 5, 2004 12:11 AMYou'll find here an opinion on someone who believes the debate was no real one :
http://www.gregpalast.com/detail.cfm?artid=376&row=0
what kerry should have said :
* "Mr. Small, you claim we've given a thousand lives to bring democracy to the Mid-east. But so far, your democracy, Mr. Small, comes down to a puppet prime minister, we've installed in Iraq and a puppet government, the Saudis have installed in Washington."
Quote "* "Mr. Small, you claim we've given a thousand lives to bring democracy to the Mid-east. But so far, your democracy, Mr. Small, comes down to a puppet prime minister, we've installed in Iraq and a puppet government, the Saudis have installed in Washington.""
Uh??
Who is Mr. Small? and since when did the Saudi's help us fight the British to win independence and form our government?
Another grand example of someone who doesnt know what they are talking about....
Posted by: cwilli at October 5, 2004 02:25 PM*cough* I'd hate to break it to DF, but Allawi has openly gone against the wishes of the US a number of times. It is clear that he acts very much independently.
As for moooseboy...what debate were you watching? With the exception of the fact that Kedry has MUCH better debate styling (probably due to his being a competitive debater in college and being in the US SEnate which does nothing but debate for 20 years), I'd say Bush answered everything he said damn well.
Not to mention Kerry fibbed quite a few times and had to reverse his position on US troop deployments in the middle of the debate!
Bottom line, people who watched the debates on TV thought KErry mopped up...people who listened on the radio generally thought Bush murdered him, because most people focus less on what they actually said and more on how they said it.
Either way, the debates are a sham, the God awful scripting of it, makes it more of a stump speech, and the fact that 3rd parties are not included makes it a sham.
Posted by: skywalker at October 5, 2004 09:23 PMyes skywalker, debates without ALL candidates are a complete farce!
Allow the American people without the Internet and cable to see there are MANY candidates not just the two fools they see.
"I guess you must have finally perfected that perfect blend of ice cream and PCP...."
LOL...yes, did you bring enough to share wiht the rest of the class?:-P
"And we STILL dont know Kerry's plan. I think that because Kerry does not know Kerry's plan."
Yes, but, he did keep giving us his website address....so - maybe he was hoping that someone would put one up for him?
"Maybe it didnt pass the 'Global Test' yet."
haha...yes, my friend, I believe the undecisive jury is still out on that one.
"Either way, the debates are a sham, the God awful scripting of it, makes it more of a stump speech, and the fact that 3rd parties are not included makes it a sham."
Indeed, indeed....then again, if the 3rd parties *were* included, then that would mean that more people would start to realize they had more than just two parties to choose from and Heaven *knows* we don't want *that* to happen!
