How many Americans have ever read the Declaration of Independence?
I wonder if the common man would see the things that I do.
The multitude of our brothers and sisters who have over the centuries given
their lives for our freedom. Would they recognize what we call the government today?
Intriguing is one of the many points listed that caused a people to stand up and physically fight
their leaders was something we accept today.
*For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent
How many times has the government raised taxes, whether fuel, "sin", sales or otherwise without
any vote.
Another point was brought to light recently when the so called Supreme Court decided they should make laws. This was also something that our forefathers stood up against.
*For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments.
Their arrogance was quite obvious when the Court decided if someone wants to build a resort, Hotel or other "public" establishment they could kick people off their land and bulldoze their homes.
That was never part of the law, however it is their bastardized version of it, and now law.
I do not claim that Mr. Bush is sole responsible for the shell of a government that we currently have presiding over us. However he is but heir to it. A slow, meticulous and dangerous mutation has occurred right under our noses.
It is time to educate our country, make known our grievances to our representatives and pray that God has mercy on us.
