MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican President Vicente Fox denounced as "disgraceful and shameful" on Wednesday a proposal to build a high-tech wall on the U.S.-Mexico border to stop illegal immigrants. (if you did not print comics showing your people how to invade our country maybe it would not come to this)
Concerned about the huge numbers of illegal immigrants streaming across the border and worried it could be an entry point for terrorists, a U.S. lawmaker has proposed building two parallel steel and wire fences running from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Coast. (yea!)
But Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff has said a wall running the length of a border would cost too much. (Name one thing the Gov does that does NOT cost too much??)
Mexico has expressed indignation at the idea. (Again, if you were not pushing your poor out the door into our house we would not have to do this.)2
Fox, speaking in Tamaulipas state across the border from Texas, said such extreme security measures would violate immigrants' rights.(lmao! complete and absolute lie)
"The disgraceful and shameful construction of walls,(that would not be needed if you, again, were not pushing your poor and unwanted on us) the increasing enforcement of security systems (lmao, love this one, shame on us for "enforcing" our laws, haha) and increasing violation of human rights and labor rights (what he is again saying here, "those we determine are scum and are pushing our the door cannot illegally go and work in the U.S.") will not protect the economy of the United States," he said.
The only way to stop illegal immigration is to declare war on Mexico and post troops on the boarders to put an end to this. As far as I can tell anyway, if anyone else has a valid idea let us discuss.

Posted by Muddy at December 15, 2005 10:54 AMSince Fox wants his people to be United States citizens so much then why doesn't he just ask the U.S government how Mexico can become the 51st state? I mean, there is no reason why we can't keep these illegals from comming over but since our gov. refuses to step up to the plate and get the job done (and no, this is in no way shape or form a comment to reflect badly on the border patrol as I believe their hands have been tied.) then why not just adopt them as a state - since they obviously can't stand life in their own country. Then maybe the citizens of the newly formed state of Mexico (I mean, we already have *New* Mexico - it shouldn't be THAT far of a streatch) can joint with us to give us more man power in keeping out other unwanted illegals and terrorists.
Ok...maybe not the BEST of ideas but I'm sick of this argument that the government is consistantly slacking on - both Dems and Republicans!
Posted by: mrs. muddy at December 15, 2005 11:55 AMBTW...I don't believe the above is a very good idea as it would most likely become an immediant burden to our economy: welfare and solcial security systems (which is already technically bankrupt) as well as our medicaid and medicare systems not to mention even more of a burden on our educational system that is already a joke. But like I said the only thing that will make this better is the gov. stepping up to the plate and I don't hold out much hope for that.
Posted by: mrs. muddy at December 15, 2005 12:02 PMTry to explain this :
free movement of capital accross borders is OK
Free movement of goods and services accross borders is OK.
Free movement of workers accross borders is not OK.
I think that we should curtail very strongly capital movement accross borders and manage some return to protectionism, at least no new opening in goods and services, so I have no trouble with limiting immigration.
But how can you both want globalisation for K, Goods and services, and not for L (labor)
?
As for another solution to the problem of illegal immigration, there's one pretty obvious and right at hand, foreigners should stop their financial life support to the US administration and US consumers, the US would then go bankrupt and the living standard would adjust to the mexican level.
By the way, you should really build that wall, it would signal clearly how paranoid your country has become post 9/11. Besides it would make a perfect parallel with the Israeli wall giving just the perfect motivation to all islam or arab terrorists around the globe to concentrate on destroying the united states.
Posted by: DF at December 16, 2005 07:53 AMvery funny article..anyone know what Mexico does to "illegals" that come from central america ? they round them up in prison and sometimes they send them back..the rest um stay in prison?
Posted by: kevin davis at December 17, 2005 03:08 AMoh and people invest money in the United States because "gasp" capitalisim rocks! otherwise they wouldn't =x
Posted by: kevin at December 17, 2005 03:10 AMOur immigration policy is racist.
Think about it before you get angry. Why is it that white americans want to pay illegals under minimum wage? They say we need the cheap labor right? Well why dont we allow employers to hire americans for $2.00 per hour? Is it because white people shouldn't have to work so hard or is the whole needed cheap labor issue really BS?
Posted by: wolffy at December 24, 2005 03:55 PM"Why is it that white americans want to pay illegals under minimum wage?"
Well, this *American* doesn't want to pay *illegals* anything under minimum wage. I don't want to pay them anyhing at all. I want them all to be rounded up then sent back to where they came from. However, anyone who comes here LEGALLY should get a fare wage for their hard work - period.
Posted by: mrs. muddy at December 24, 2005 05:15 PMI don't want to pay illegals less than the minimum wage, I want to deport them.
I also want to despense with the minimum wage. If you want a job you and your employer should be able to decide how much you should be paid, without government interference. There is no reason why a 14 or 15 year old kid whose parents are making him get a job should get $5.15/hr for no reason other than the government says his employer must pay him that wage.
Posted by: skywalker at December 25, 2005 09:18 AMWell what is the reason for virtually no enforcement of immigration law?
Posted by: wolffy at December 25, 2005 10:02 PM"Well what is the reason for virtually no enforcement of immigration law?"
Well, some of MANY reasons....political correctness (which is nothing but a cancer on our society), too many lobby groups and too many pussy foot politicians who don't have the back bone to step up to the plate and actually DO their jobs....as well as other reasons that muddy, skywalker and cwilli are better at explaining.

Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 13, 2006 07:48 AMNo. I mean they are an increasing voting bloc. In terms of population, they now out rank blacks. However, a lot of the reason for that is illegal immigration. This is a reason why there is currently a fight in my state legislature about requiring a photo id (including a free photo id) to vote: to prevent fraud by illegal aliens.

Posted by: mrs. muddy at January 13, 2006 08:09 AMif we take mexico as a state then the cost to fix it up, we could build 100 fences
