I'm so sick of the wingers vs. the nut jobs that I want to whip out a M-249 and mow them all down. Liberals, Progressives, Conservatives, Patriots and on and on. How about this grand new concept??
AMERICANS!
Dammit, we're always bitching and fighting like snot nose brats on the playground, I for one am sick of it.
I have a suggestion, ban all political parties, and also outlaw political organizations, clubs and weblogs. :-P
Force Americans to be Americans, have civil discussions, share ideas and omg, hold on, get the hell along!! with each other.
I realize this is impossible, but I just want to be on record that our current hate fest is really getting tiresome.
Mooseboy and I got along swell playing Madden (when he wasn't running fake punts every 4th down, hehe, sorry had to rib you there) and I'm sure we can at the very least agree we love our country and want it to prosper and be the best. (I really hope we can agree on that at least).
How this happens can be worked out later, how about we all agree on this one thing, America is our country, we love our country and want it to grow and prosper.
Can we at least start there?
(sorry International readers, not really meant for you all this time)

Ok? Why is there nothing but the sound of crickets for this thread?
Chirp, chirp, chirp.
I have no problem getting along or engaging in civil discourse with anyone, if they are an agreeable person. When people phrase debates in absolute terms, it paints people into a corner.
What debate??
All I'm asking is if we can agree that we love our country and that we want it to continue to grow stronger and be the best.
If you think that's putting someone in the corner then perhaps I'm speaking another language.
Holy smoke! :-/
Posted by: muddy at July 21, 2006 09:30 PMDid I say you were puting anyone in a corner? Your post was about left vs right etc, and I said, "when people phrase debates."
I didnt say you. When someone makes a statement like, "only leftist hate george bush," [despite "leftist" being an amorphous term that has no real meaning] that puts people in corners and makes for less "civil discussions" amongst americans.
Posted by: mooseboy84 at July 23, 2006 01:29 AMSo let us not beat around the 'bush' (har, har) do you love your country? (notice I said country, not Bush, the government or even me)
For the record, I do.
