Leading Senate Democrats revived a plan for the "phased redeployment" of American troops out of Iraq, even though the plan did not get unanimous support among Democrats when it was first introduced in June.
Meanwhile, Bush spent time behind closed doors with members of the Iraq Study Group, a bipartisan panel of former statesmen appointed by Congress to give the situation in Iraq a fresh pair of eyes.
*rolls eyes*
You can quote me on this in the future, feel free as I'm beyond confident that it's true.
"If we pull out of Iraq before the job is done, chaos will reign like we've never seen in recorded history."
When will the, "job be done?"
Im glad you seem to know, because no one in the bush administration has ever proclaimed what, "winning" or "getting the job done" is, or a way of obtaining it.
Iraq will be in chaos no matter when we leave. Doesnt matter if its next week, or 10 years from now. The Iraq war has always been a case of holding a wolf by the ears.
Posted by: mooseboy84 at November 14, 2006 01:50 PMI do know, the Bushies are clueless at times, you should know that.
No, the Iraq war has always been about cutting off the head of the snake, Iran.
The dummyrats can just take their "proposal" and....on second thought, I've been trying REALLY hard to tame my tounge so in that case I'll come back and comment when I can put this tactfully. I will say, though - don't wait up for me.

I swear, you conservative types put the R in revisionist history.
So lets go through the list.....WMDs, getting rid of sadaam, installing "democracy," creating a vacuum to draw terrorist into fighting over there instead of here....
And now finally, taking the head off the sanke iran?
So How exactly are we hurting iran? The civil war going on, is aligning the Shiite majority in iraq to the shiite clerics in iran. What about Sryia large sunni community supporting the Sunnis in Iraq?
So the plan all along was to take care of Iran? And I guess you do that, by eliminating the main threat in region that kept Iran in check, and reduced the role of islamic clerics in iraq, by removing Hussein from power?
That sure did show Iran who was boss alright. Take their biggest enemy in region out of power, and make way for the millions of shiite to follow the orders of the clerics in iran....

Conservative my ***! It's called common sence....of course, that's nothing you would be familiar with so why should I bother.
Posted by: mrs. muddy at November 16, 2006 12:08 AMWow, its good to see that some things never change.
I said it years ago and I will say it again. We went into Iraq because of the WMD. They shipped the WMD to Syria before we invaded (just like they did their entire Air Force in the first Gulf War) because they had plenty of time to do so. I cannot prove this is true in the exact same manner that you cannot prove this isn’t true. So your disagreement is only your opinion, moosehead. Just because my opinion is the less common opinion does not disqualify it from being possible.
The second reason was to fight them on their own soil. When the dummycrates 'cut and run', the terrorists will no longer be able to jump the fence into Iraq and fight our troops on the ground and fight our Government through our own biased media, they will begin start to plan attacks on our soil. Since the dummycrates will obviously kill the patriot act and will probably make it AGAIN illegal for the CIA and FBI to communicate with each other (thank you Bill Clinton), American citizens will die because we will be unable to protect ourselves. However, the dead Americans will die with the full honor of nobody listening in on their conversations anymore, having them on a secret list, or having profiled them in any way. Just the same way I am sure you would want to die.
Not just Americans, but Iraqi’s will die. Then we will once again be known as those wacky Americans who can’t finish the job we started. So Iraqi’s will join the rest of the middle east with contempt and hate for us because they will be right back into the same situation they started, with a dictator who will probably be worst than Saddam. Our own media will certainly be happy to assist them with 24/7 news coverage of their hurt and anger, just in case they themselves begin to forget how much they hate us. (and to just stop you now, they DON’T hate us right now, turn off your television)
But before you get all defensive, don’t worry. None of this will happen. Once the dummycrates get into office and get a chance to see all that classified intel they ( and we) were not able to see before, you will see a shift from this ‘get us out’ dummycrate mindset into a ‘well, we should at least finish the job’ mentality. But don’t fear, it will be covered in the usual ‘they got us into this mess’ smokescreen that will allow them to finish the job, take the credit for the work and still hide the fact that they didn’t have the balls to do the right thing in the first place.
"Wow, its good to see that some things never change."
I don't think that's something to take comfort in sweetie.:-)
Posted by: mrs. muddy at November 16, 2006 10:59 PMI disagree. I always like to come back to things that way I expected them to be. I have not be on the site for a while, but its a comfort to see that things are still the same here.
Posted by: cwilli at November 19, 2006 06:21 PMAH ah ah you lousy conservatives loosers...
Iraq is the now nightmare anybody with a decent mind could foresee. The USA are loosing billions with each day passing training the new generation of terrorist. Bush has lost all the foreign support to the USA. And the USA is on closer than ever to bankrupcy...
Yeah it s good to see that you have not changed a bit cwilli. Recession is on track for 2007. Remains to be seen if it will be hard enough to offset the economic growth of the 2003-2006 period. I think our bet was what by march 2008 the US economy would be lower than by march 2003, but I'm not sure anymore about the exact dates. Do you remember ?
Anyway, it s pretty cool to see that pathetic leaders lead to pathetic results.
There were no WMD in Iraq as it has been proven 1000 times now, so there was nothing to shift ot syria or any other country. Iran had already a nuclear program in 2003 but Iran was already to strong to be attacked in 2003 so the USA attacked lousy Iraq to get an easy win. Now Iran is stronger than ever, it will get its nuclear bomb. Once it has it, all other countries in the region will get it. And When we get there, things may really turn nasty.
We are now between 47000 and 600 000 iraqi civilians deaths. People dead just because the US president thought it was cool to get a hold on oil resources in iraq, install a new protectorate and control the region.
I have only one regret, that cwilli never met Borat, I m sure he would have provided us all with a good laugh.
Please US soldiers, stay in Iraq or leave, do whatever you please. We don't care any more. It won't change a thing. It's too late. The shit is every where. Middle east has turned into a nightmare, when peace seemed within reach with clinton, now there's civil war in 3 countries : libanon, iraq and palestin... Wow. Great job.
Whatever happens now is not interesting anymore, you had the chance to save your nation, you only went further into arrogance and error. Now all the rest of the world is going to do is watch your empire disappear just like the soviet one.
Bye bye you happy spenders of other people's money, running foreign wars and building homes with chinese cash ... Hello new world with the USA back to a regional power. Count me on this, US future is about as bright as the one of the soviet union in 1990.
Posted by: DF at November 27, 2006 05:41 AMI missed the most comic part :
"if we pull out of Iraq before the job is done, chaos will reign like we've never seen in recorded history."
Wake up cwilli. Chaos is already there. More than 100 people are officially recorded killed with each passing day. Real number could be if history is any guide more than 5 times higher.
How much chaos do you need to realise the mission was not worth it ? How many innocent iraki civilians need get killed before you think it's worth the death of a US innocent civilian ?
Pick up your ratio. Right now if there are 300 000 civilian deaths in Iraq that makes a ratio of one to 100. Not enough ?
And what if irakis start to want to avenge each iraki death with a US death ?
But no of course they will realise how well intentionate G bush was, those who fight americans are only foes of democracy, and those who get their children killed by US bombs are happy that they died in martyrs to the democratic cause. Everybody knows that.
Meanwhile Guantanamo is still in operation and the rest of the world can see what a great democracy the USA are...
Bet they'll appreciate it more if the congress does impeach bush and friends and sentence them for high treason. That's all they deserve given how they destroyed the USA in a very short period of time.
Can't wait to see your country run into oblivion. Though I doubt you may even learn from this. Others hopefully will learn though, and I have great hopes that a new roosevelt will rise soon.
Michael Moore rules, here is his program :
1. Bring the troops home now. Not six months from now. NOW. Quit looking for a way to win. We can't win. We've lost. Sometimes you lose. This is one of those times. Be brave and admit it.
2. Apologize to our soldiers and make amends. Tell them we are sorry they were used to fight a war that had NOTHING to do with our national security. We must commit to taking care of them so that they suffer as little as possible. The mentally and physically maimed must get the best care and significant financial compensation. The families of the deceased deserve the biggest apology and they must be taken care of for the rest of their lives.
3. We must atone for the atrocity we have perpetuated on the people of Iraq. There are few evils worse than waging a war based on a lie, invading another country because you want what they have buried under the ground. Now many more will die. Their blood is on our hands, regardless for whom we voted. If you pay taxes, you have contributed to the three billion dollars a week now being spent to drive Iraq into the hellhole it's become. When the civil war is over, we will have to help rebuild Iraq. We can receive no redemption until we have atoned.
Posted by: DF at November 28, 2006 12:44 PM"I think our bet was what by march 2008 the US economy would be lower than by march 2003"
Oh no you don't. you said that in 2008 the economy would be totally destroyed. Not worst than 2003.
Also congratulations, your officially the first person to quote Michael Moore in like 2 years and officially the last person on the plant who cares anything about what he says.
Thanks, that was a good laugh....
Nah. I'm sure about the "worst than", what I'm not sure about are the exact dates. 2008 and 2003, 2007 and 2004, something like this. I think it was 2008 and 2003 but not sure.
YOu're totally wrong about michael moore, if i may remind you, the republicans have lost mid term elections, Iraq is the night mare we french told you it would become some 5 years ago, no WMD were found in Iraq and the reports made clear that nothing sizable had the chance to be shipped to syria, right now there are about some 100 Thousands iraki people dead who await US and especially republican excuses. All those who supported this war must bear responsibility for this mess. It was so easy to forecast it, that to say that something else was hoped in going to war, is just saying that at the time one was just stupid.
Posted by: DF at November 30, 2006 10:23 AMI am just as sure you said something to the effect of 'totally bankrupt'. It more matches your usual rants.
As far as Michael Moore, he is wack job and nobody with any brain cells at all pays any attention to him.
Which would explain why you French would like him so much.
You can have him, we will keep Ann Coulter. She is much hotter and doesnt smell like a McGriddle. Although that might not be a bad thing, now that I think about it.
Say what you want about Iraq. Its easy for you French to be armchair quarterbacks, hell thats the road you took during WWII, so its to be expected. I still stand besides that fact that Saddam sent his WMD to Syria and it was still the right thing to do. Just because everyone is brainwashed by the media does not make the 'Nay sayers' correct.
It makes them 'Nay Sayers', thats what they do.
Stay the course.
BTW, did you see this?
