Here is yet another article that debates the so called concensus on global warming.
Here is a cherry picked excerp;
Does any remember the global cooling warning in the 70's? I do and I wonder how many of the scientists then are the same scientists today? I wonder what will be the 'end of the world' doomsday scenario that they will be trying to sell us in another 30 years.
That is if we make it that long! LOL. Not that I dont think that it is good to be much less wasteful and take care of our planet (not to mention getting off our depency on fossil fules) just dont tell me that we are all going to die if we dont.
If the left was smart about it, they would be telling the right that their 401k will be in jepordy if we dont go green. Then something would be done about it. Just dont say 'were all going to die' because everyone is sceptical about those scenario's, yes even the scientific community.
This whole global warming thing has backfired. Now instead of going green because its the right thing to do, everyone is trying to figure out if the myth is true and doing nothing. Again the should have just told everyone that their retirement money would be gone.

"Does any remember the global cooling warning in the 70's?"
YES! I definitely remember that! Some scientists kept claiming over and over again that withing decades of the 70's that we would start to fall into another ice age! I've even heard some scientist say here recently that if you take all those articles on "global cooling" from the 70's and replace the word "cooling" with "warming" and replace the words "ice age" with all the other words they associate with global warming....you'd have the same articles only in the opposite extreme.
The earth is warming up. OK! Fine! We GET IT! That's a definite "duh, no kidding!". However, whether it warms up for the next decade - or two, or three - we're not "all going to DIE from it!". The earth will continue to warm up and get hotter....and then it will start cooling off - again.

Money makes the scientific world go around as well. :(
Its funny how fast baloney spreads among the whackos. I just responded to this very same article on another forum. Ill just repost what I said.
What nonsense.
That article and the people who belive it are so far off. The overwhelming MAJORITY of scientist belive Global Warming exist, and there is countless emperical evidence to back it up.
The "debate" among the scientific community, is if the Earth is getting hotter Naturally, through a cycle and Not something to worry about, OR if human produced c02 levels are contributing to a dramtic increase in climate change.
That is the debate, and scientist mostly fall on one side or the other, with the majority chosing the latter.
The article was a fruad and it used very careful language and polling to achieve its goal. It trys to claim that most scientist dont belive in global warming, but it uses non sequitir polls and questions to come to that end.
Because some scientist maybe against the kyoto treaty, or think hurricanes are naturally ocurring DOES NOT mean theyre against global warming. The writer tries extrapolate some idea that there is not alot of support in the belief of global warming, when in reality he knows he cant make that claim and is telling a tale.
Suprisingly near the end, I guess to have some semblance of credibility, the writer slipped this "inconvient truth" into his article:
"A more recent indicator comes from the U.S.-based National Registry of Environmental Professionals, an accrediting organization whose 12,000 environmental practitioners have standing with U.S. government agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. In a November, 2006, survey of its members, it found that only 59% think human activities are largely responsible for the warming that has occurred."
That looks like a majority to me.
Yea, I bet the overwhelming majority of scientists believed in the pending doom of a ice age in the 70's.
So 59% is an overwhelming majority? That the whole point, its not.
But thank for providing credible evidence, or even a single good point, that the article is a fraud. Its good to see someone who can backup their point with facts....
The term Global Warming itself indicates that it is not cyclic, other wise it would be just as accurate to call it Global Cooling or Global in the middle somewhere.
The term Climate Change indicates that it is a changing climate, not always warm or cold.
The overwhelming majority of scientists DO NOT believe Global Warming exists, they do believe that Climate Change is real.

The facts are there, they are there for everyone to see. THe earth is getting warmer. End of story.
Global warming has happened.
THen come scenarios about the future and those implies theories. the theory held by all physicians in the world is that some gaz make the athmosphere get warmer, if you have more of them,
then the earth is getting warmer.
THen you have another bunch of facts : there have been more and more of those greenhouses gas released in the athmosphere. SO the earth should get warmer.
Once this is clear in all rational minds, come the mitigating factors :
lots of the warming cooling is related to clouds, if there are more clouds then more light is sent back to space and the earth cools. WHat helps explain if there are more or less clouds. NO one really knows thus far.
Frozen areas are now melting and this releases huge amounts of greenhouses gas, so there could be a snow balling effects
THose forecasting an oil peak have strong arguments showing that there won t be enough oil and coal anyway for the forecasts of the ipcc to turn true, the earth will turn warmer at a slower pace
SOme scientists believe an undetermined amount of the recent global warming has been caused by an increase in solar activity. So potentially if solar activity goes down so should the earth temperatures..
THe stupid republicans talk and talk and talk. Meanwhile facts prove rational people right as time goes by.
Iraq is a proven disaster. No WMD have been found.
Guantanamo is a shame on the US and the US presidency, people have been sentenced for 4 years now with still no trial in view ... And all trials so far have led judges to condemn the procedures chosen by the US administration as illegal...
finally the US citizens are fatter and fatter, more and more indebted and the economic deregulation advocated by reagan and his followers has turned the US economy into a debt addict. 80% of the federal debt is the hands of foreign investors, a huge chunk being CHina and Russia, not precisely US allies.
But fear nothing, the market will save us all and there is no such thing as rich people stealing democracy for themselves.
as usuals links are posted by people who seem not to have read them.
If you want to see global warming, just see it for yourself

This is taken from the article in global cooling.
Over the last 160 years, the temperature has risen 0,8 celsius degrees, and 0,5 over the last 30 years.
THat is global warming. It has happened and it already has major effects.
Hundreds thousands civilian deaths in Iraq, millions innocents forced to quit their homes because of US intervention, a puppet democracy, 500 billions dollars spent, some trillions to be paid in the future for health treatments pensions ... No WMD found. Oil production, electricity production, water distribution, still below their 2003 level ...
But so far the blog has not revised its support for the war. It s been 4 years now.
I wonder how long its going to take before global warming is admitted as being reality ...
ANd now with the subprime crisis the demise of the US economy has finally started. Wonder how long it ll take till you admit this ...
MUst admit I ve been to quick to call that economic depression... THought it would happen in 2005... so if cwilli is still there, who do I send the 50 dollars then ?
