Apparently the UN (who it sems we should give our sovereignity up to) is hopelessly corrupt (not that most politicians aren't, but most are at least most get their bribes through campaign contributions, not overtly advertised bribes!)

During my recent conversation with a friend I had an astonishing idea.
Why spend $14 to 18 dollars (USD) on a CD when the artist gets about one dollar back.?
I purpose that instead we get the music through alternative means, then send the artist a donation to cover what they lost in the CD sale. I'd say at least five dollars would be a start and the artist gets more cash and it will force the RIAA to reform or fade away.
You may say what about the download music services? Most music download services don't provide music in a very high quality format. Why people are paying for a lower grade quality is beyond my understanding.
As an artist myself (albeit very small time) I would much rather have five dollars than one. ;-)
Voice your opinion on this below, if we can generate support lets take it to the people.

It seems there is NO end to Microsoft's madness. When will it end?
In addition how can you "patent" the Human Body, doesn't God own that one any ways? :-P
So Micro$oft wants to use the human body to transmit data and/or power to electronic devices... These guys can't even make freakin' software right! Who in their right mind would even consider letting those tools attach electrodes to them?

Saddam is a happy camper. So he wants us to believe. If the over-reacting to the so called abuse of prisoners in abu ghraib had any effect then Saddam is relaxing in his favorite Lazy-Boy chair smoking a Cuban.
I'm getting really worried about his trial. With the recent activity in Iraq I think we're in for one hell of a mess when his trial hits.

Congrats to the totally screwed up Saudi's. It goes to prove that Saudi Arabia IS and has ALWAYS been a sponsor and a champion of terrorism.
Announcing today that they will offer safety to any terrorist who surrenders to the state. Well, well, well... ain't that dandy.
One terrorist supporting another, seems about right.
Considering the Saudi's could not find terrorists for the past five plus years now all of a sudden they hand out safety to people that don't exist.
Funny how that works.

Why is the US media more concerned with some soldiers who are going to get court martialed making some prisoners wear panties on their head (something most men like to do I might add...but I won't go there) but pretty much ignores the fact that 1 American was shot and then decapitated in his own drive way, 2 Americans and 1 south Korean were kidnapped and beheaded just for the publicity?! I think Fox News is the only news source who has gotten past Abu Ghraib. Look folks they are being court martialed, if there is news with that let us know, otherwise...move on to real news!
Clinton's book: I think the only thing funnier than the fact that people are comparing it to his 1988 Democratic National Covention Speech is the fact that he reads it on the audio version just like Hillary read her book: with zero emotion even when talking about things that would make a normal person bawl like a baby.
Just what is Iran up to these days? Do they think they are bullet proof? What makes them think the world "has" to accept them as a nuclear power? Why are they picking a fight with the British? And why oh why are they massing troops at the Iraqi border?

SpaceShipOne will try to climb 62 miles up Monday morning, leaving Earth's atmosphere for a few minutes to become the first privately funded, non-governmental manned spacecraft.
The feat would set up SpaceShipOne designer Burt Rutan as the leader among worldwide contenders for the Ansari X-Prize, which aims to boost space tourism. The prize will award $10 million to the first privately funded, three-seat spaceship to reach 62 miles and repeat the flight within two weeks.
If the mission is successful, Rutan will then enter his rocket plane in the X-Prize competition, which includes more than 20 other teams from around the world.

So they want to remove anything that even resembles religion in our society. They claim that it is a separation of Church and State. Well I disagree. I have that right. It does not change the fact that they are doing it. However I draw the line when suddenly it is only certain religions that they try to remove. That is exactly what is going on here.
If you read this news story you will find that they are arguing over Muslims who want to have a certain phrase on their graduation outfits. It seems that the Muslims have decided that they want to wear the phrase “shahada”. This of course could have one of many meaning. Some of the meanings could be "There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger" and "God, increase my knowledge." What they are arguing about is that some say that the word shahada was Hamas' call for Muslims to martyr themselves.
But that’s not the point.
Now if you have not already got the point, then let me help you out. It would not matter what a Christian phrase would have been. They would have immediately denied them the right to wear it. Let alone if it were something to the effect that Jesus is the ONLY lord. Am I the only one who finds that this is totally outrageous? Am I the only one who is not surprised that this would be the University of California?
Now, Do you want to see something very scary. If you are familiar with Communism you may recognize a book called "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen. In that book he outlines the goals that would lead the fall of capitalism. If you read the goals, you will find that most of them have come true since Communism was declared ‘no longer a threat’. Number 27 and 28 are related to religion. I think that there is a new threat to this Country. Its every bit as quiet and sneaky as Communism was in the 1960's
It's called Socialism.
Kerry is wanting to increase the minimum wage to a whopping $7 an hour! He claims it will help mothers as the majority of minimum wage earners are women. He also says and I quote "The detractors say 'This will hurt our small business!' But it never has before."
Okay, I'm raising the BS flag to full mast!
First, the largest group of minimum wage earners might be women. But that's if you don't break it down by age, where you realize the the majority of minimum wage earners are college age or teenagers! And then is you subtract all the people who are in a minimum wage job as a side job, then you have a very small group of people who are making a "living" so to speak on minimum wage, but instead just have kids. By the way, if you're making minimum wage in my state, you're an idiot since many McDonalds start off at 10 dollars an hour, but that's another story.
Second thing, the largest group of small businesses is also the one with the most minimum wage jobs: restaurants. And I can tell you right now that many restaurants have a hard time creating new jobs as it is, due to this whole idea of diminishing returns. New jobs only comes when business increases by a fairly large amount. Most of the restaurants I know of would have to fire people if they had to raise their wages by almost 2 dollars per hours. Sorry sir, but it has happened before, raising the minimum wage cuts jobs, not creates them. 1.5 million jobs have been created just since the beginning of the year, I think we're doing okay in that department, don't screw with it!
BTW, raising the minimum wage has less to do with mom's working to raise their children by themselves (which Kerry wants to give them more free money fo thei irresponsibility too) and more to do with unions whose wages are perpetually tied to the minimum wage. A union contract might read that they are entitled to a minimum of 5 times the minimum wage or 10 dollars more than the minimum wage (just to pull some numbers from my nether regions. Dear lord, you want to talk about industries that will begint o feel a hurt, look at any industry that depends on a union and you will see and industry either begint of ail, or let people go.
Sorry, if you w ant to help jobs in this country, get rid of the business killing unions (like the ones who killed Eastern Airlines, United Airlines and were trying to kill Delta Airlines) and get rid of the minimum wage altogether. There is no reason why someone shouldn't be free to negotiate their own wage with an employer. If I want to work for $4 an hour on a side job, why shouldn't I? And why should an employer have to pay a 14 year old $7 an hour to scoop fries, which is what Kerry wants?
It also will cause inflation. Why? If you can't figure that one out, God help you.
Sorry Mr. Kerry, it will hurt jobs, it will cause inflation, and it will hurt the conomy.

In what the CDC says is due to money, teen smoking has decreased. This is a good thing if you look at it from the point of view (as I do) that smokers are stupid. It also means less adults will be smoking in the future. Why? Because how many people actually start smoking once they are old enough to legally purchase cigarettes? I've met one.
This however is a bad thing for teenage guys who are now having a harder time trying to identify which girls are "easy." Oh well, sorry for you pals!
On a similar note, while driving around today I saw a woman who judging by the obscenely beat up and old car, clothing and dumb founded look on her face and even more so, the cigarette in her hand, just had to have an IQ similar to her inseam. To make matters worse, she was sitting in a car with a girl who bore a vague resemblance to her, and might have been 13 - also smoking.
I'm serious, I have issues with smokers. You want to talk about pollution? Get people to quite smoking, and then we can talk about pollution! How about these jerks who dump their ash tray out in the parking lot! I once had one do it right in front of me after he watched me sweep up the other trash in the parking lot.
I'm not kidding. When I was managing 2 computer stores, I refused to hire anyone who smoked, regardless of qualifications. Why would I? The one time I did, he was on a break every 15 minutes smoking a cigarette! Yet, he wondered how I got so much more done than him in the busier of the 2 stores. He also proved to be incopetent, despite his being well versed as a technician on paper.
Oh well. One last thing. The stats still say 20% of smokers. Sorry, but that is far higher than it needs to be.

I'm no fan of the SBC. I have attended 2 SBC churches and was miserable at both. Why? Well for one thing, they are people who in general, really do want a theocracy. They are in denial when they say they don't. The church leadership was typically very judgemental of me, and my rather unorthodox (back then) manner of dressing and living. Ironically my ultimate split with the last one came when a youth minister treated me very poorly due to my being homeschooled. He also had very choice things to say about homeschoolers and overall I was less than pleased. On top of all this, I was already pretty much agains tthe idea of denominations anywaysdue to my reading the Bible and it saying things like "Be ye not divided amongst yourselves." Yes, the words of Paul ring pretty well through my head.
Even though, I still do not wish ill will towards these people, churches, or the denomination. And I think this quote in the article puts it best: "This is a denomination that has lost its focus." How right they are! They've forgotten what it is all about and have become ultra-political in trying to force other people to live their lives by the SBC doctrine, and many if not most of them do not. A perfect depiction of how many of these people act could be found in the recent movie "Saved!"
In reality (and Ironically), many of these people, particularly young people, are moving towards non-denominational and/or charismatic churches. I've attended many of these churches and found that they are more open to people of all walks of life. They won't lie to you about what they think of whatever you do that does not follow church doctrine, but they won't embarrass you about it or tell you not to come back about it.
If the SBC want's to revive themselves, they might start looking towards the very churches their pastors criticize on sunday morning.

I read an AP story a few minutes ago and I realized something. The AP lied.
The leak from the commission yesterday was that Iraq was linked to al-Quaeda, but not to 9/11. Accoording to AP today, that is not the case. Yet all over radio and TV yesterday, that is how it was reported. In fact, CNN this morning called the lack of an Iraq link a blunt contradicitont o one of the reasons for going to war. While I can't find a story about it (go figure), I remember President Bush saying in a press conference, specifically, that Iraq was NOT linked to 9/11, but they were linked al-Quaeda. AP and CNN however were all over it to say just the opposite. To me this epitomizes media bias, and is a bold faced lie.
On a side note, the media needs to standardize how they spell al-Quaeda. I obviously like al-Quaeda, the AP usually uses al-Quaida. I've seen it a couple of different ways though.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Just to how close their ideology and hatred of the United States really is, Hezbollah offers to help Michael Moore and his movie F911.
Wow, talking about aiding the enemy. The only difference between the two is the Hezbollah will actually admit that they hate the United States. Michael Moore will not.
I have more respect for Hezbollah. The other funny thing about this story is the you don’t see it in any of the American news sources.
HMMM. I wonder why that is?

Just some quotes and such I found on Mr. Kerry that were humorous. (or sad depending on how you look at it)
SUVS [06/02 02:01 PM]
FIRST HE SAID: "I don't own an SUV,'' Kerry declared when asked by reporters on Earth Day 2004.
THEN HE SAID: Asked whether or not his wife, Teresa, owned an SUV — on same conference call during which he denied owning an SUV — he fessed up, sorta: "The family has it. I don't have it." Back in February, however, he rattled off a list of Kerry household cars: "We have some SUVs. We have a Jeep. We have a couple of Chrysler minivans. We have a PT Cruiser up in Boston. I have an old Dodge 600 that I keep in the Senate. ... We also have a Chevy, a big Suburban."
THE IRAQ WAR: FUNDING [06/02 01:52 PM]
FIRST HE SAID: On Face the Nation on 9/14/04, Kerry discussed an amendment he was pushing as part of the $87 billion funding bill for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Asked if he would support the bill even without the amendment, he replied, "I don't think any United States senator is going to abandon our troops and recklessly leave Iraq to whatever follows as a result of simply cutting and running. That's irresponsible."
He added "I don't think anyone in the Congress is going to not give our troops ammunition, not give our troops the ability to be able to defend themselves. We're not going to cut and run and not do the job."
THEN HE SAID: Kerry voted against the bill in October 2003. He later infamously replied to a Republican ad highlighting the vote by saying, "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it." (For more see Barbara Comstock, "Where the Dem Was".)
THE IRAQ WAR: AUTHORIZATION [06/02 01:51 PM]
FIRST HE SAID: John Kerry sounded like President Bush before the war. In a September 2002 New York Times op-ed he wrote: "If Saddam Hussein is unwilling to bend to the international community's already existing order, then he will have invited enforcement...even if that enforcement is mostly at the hands of the United States, a right we retain even if the Security Council fails to act."
Kerry voted for authorization to use force in Iraq on October 11 that same fall.
THEN HE SAID: By January 6, 2004, Kerry is a self-identified antiwar candidate: On Hardball, Chris Matthews asked Kerry, "Do you think you belong to that category of candidates who more or less are unhappy with this war, the way it's been fought, along with General Clark, along with Howard Dean and not necessarily in companionship politically on the issue of the war with people like Lieberman, Edwards and Gephardt? Are you one of the antiwar candidates?"
Kerry replied: "I am — Yes, in the sense that I don't believe the president took us to war as he should have, yes, absolutely."
And my Favorite one yet...
Aug 27, 2002: Having been asked if he would ever considered getting a bigger car?" Kerry shoots back, "No, but I have thought about cutting all your f**king legs off at the knees." Yet another 'presidential caliber remark'. (source)

quoted from Mike @ http://slashdot.org/articles/03/07/22/1853256.shtml?tid=188&tid=97

Reagan, known as "The Great Communicator," was elected to office in a landslide victory over incumbent Democrat Jimmy Carter in 1980 and is credited with revitalizing the country's stagnant economy and forcing the end of the Cold War during his two terms in office from 1981 to 1989.
His charismatic personality and staunch conservatism led the nation in a Republican resurgence that kept the GOP in the White House for 12 years.
Reagan remained largely out of public view since announcing he had Alzheimer's disease in November 1994. He came to symbolize Alzheimer's, which has no cure, during the last decade of his life. Reagan turned the disclosure of his disease as an opportunity to make a final address to the nation, expressing in an open letter to the American people the same patriotic fervor that had catapulted him into the presidency.
"When the Lord calls me home, whenever that may be, I will leave with the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future," Reagan wrote at the time. "I know that for America there will always be a bright dawn ahead."
It looks like Disney sold Michael Moore’s movie 'Fahrenheit 9/11' to Lions Gate Entertainment Corp for 6 million. Disney refused to release the film because they would rather be known for producing animated films than pure fantasy. The movie is expected to open in theatres June 25th.
Ok, I would like to go ahead and make a prediction. I am going to stick my neck out here and predict that this movie will fall flat on its face. I predict it will NOT be in the 10 ten movies during its opening weekend BUT will get massive media attention because it will fall right in line with the media’s left wing agenda.
Meanwhile factual documentaries such as Remembering Saddam (http://www.heritage.org/Press/Events/ev052604a.cfm) will be completely ignored by the media.
I wonder how much money Michael Moore will make off this film and how much of that money will go to twinkies?

On my way into work today driving up 270 there was an unusually long line of cars bunched up in the passing lane. After driving further in this congestion I discovered a LG Electric truck driving in the passing lane at a steady 63-64mph.[in a 65mph zone, typical speed is 70-75] This did not sit well with myself and the 10-15 others stuck behind this fool. After some maneuvering we each passed him and after about a dozen or so people going around him he never moved out of the passing lane. It's really sad how some people still don't understand the passing lane is for passing people not for holding up traffic. Myself if I'm in the passing lane and someone is closing in on me I'm smart enough to realize they are moving faster than me, so if possible I move over and let them through.
This is not as much a rant as it is a demonstration of the typical lack of respect and courtesy in America. I know it's much worse in cities like Philly, and NYC however we're talking about the midwest here.
As someone once said, it's sad how our country went from reading Time, to US and now Self. Interesting how that follows the national ideology.
America, what a great place to kill babies and call it the right for a woman to choose. To choose the fate of another human being without their voice being heard. [anywhere else it's called Murder]
Hot damn, we're the baby killing capital of the world.[1.3 million every year] Liberals must be crapping themselves with delight every day they wake up here.
How can a nation founded by people calling upon the name of Jesus allow such satanic behavior to happen?? Wait, that's a stupid question, it's called "political correctness or liberalism"
I don't know if this is sad or funny, but if you think about this. Liberals say that it's a woman's right to choose to murder her baby before it's born. Yet it's a crime against humanity to put to death a convicted murder? What kind of screwed up thinking is that?
